Description

Bang Bang Shrimp Pasta is a quick and flavorful 20-minute dinner featuring juicy shrimp, tender spaghetti, and a creamy, sweet-and-spicy sauce that’s irresistibly delicious and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp and Pasta

  • 8 ounces dry spaghetti
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 clove minced garlic

Sauce

  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ⅓ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together ⅓ cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup heavy cream, ⅓ cup sweet chili sauce, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce, and ¼ teaspoon salt until smooth and combined. Set aside.
  2. Cook Pasta: Cook 8 ounces of dry spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
  3. Season the Shrimp: In a large bowl, toss 1 pound of peeled and deveined large shrimp with 1 teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon pepper to evenly coat.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Heat 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 clove of minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, about 6 minutes. Avoid overcooking to keep shrimp tender. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Heat the Sauce: Reduce the skillet heat to medium-low and pour the prepared sauce into the skillet. Warm it for about 1 minute while whisking continuously to combine flavors and heat the sauce through.
  6. Combine and Toss: Return the shrimp and cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together thoroughly to coat the shrimp and pasta evenly with the sauce. Serve immediately for best taste.

Notes

  • Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-3 days.
  • Reheat leftovers in the microwave or over the stove until warmed through; adding a splash of cream can help keep the pasta moist.
  • Freezing this dish is not recommended as the texture of the shrimp and sauce may suffer.
  • Best served fresh for optimal flavor and texture.
