Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 dozen (1 package) Hawaiian slider rolls
- ¾ pound thinly sliced roast beef
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce (use your favorite brand)
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
Sauce Ingredients
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1–½ teaspoon poppy seeds
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Rolls: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Slice the Hawaiian dinner rolls horizontally and place the bottom halves on a 9 x 11-inch baking sheet. In a small bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls.
- Layer Beef and Cheese: Layer the thinly sliced roast beef evenly over the BBQ mixture, then place cheddar cheese slices on top. Cover with the top halves of the dinner rolls.
- Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine melted butter, brown sugar, remaining Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat once blended.
- Spoon Sauce and Bake: Spoon the warm sauce evenly over the assembled sliders. Cover the baking sheet with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Finish Baking: Remove the foil and continue baking for another 8 minutes or until the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the sliders cool for 5 minutes before cutting into individual sliders. Serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly sliced roast beef for best flavor and texture.
- For a spicier kick, add a dash of hot sauce to the BBQ mixture.
- Substitute cheddar with Swiss or provolone cheese for a different taste.
- Make ahead by assembling sliders and refrigerating before baking; increase baking time by a few minutes if chilled.
