Description

Ramen Lasagna is a creative twist on the classic Italian dish that uses ramen noodles instead of traditional lasagna noodles. Layers of ramen, rich tomato sauce, and a blend of parmesan and mozzarella cheeses baked to bubbly perfection make this an easy and delicious meal perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Ramen Layer

  • 4 packets ramen noodles, discard flavor packet

Sauces and Cheese

  • 4 cups tomato sauce, divided
  • 2 cups grated parmesan cheese, divided
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-x-8 inch casserole dish with baking spray and place it on a baking tray. Set aside.
  2. Prepare ramen noodles: Break each ramen noodle cake in half through the middle to create smaller sections for easier layering.
  3. Assemble first layer: Place one layer of broken ramen noodles evenly on the bottom of the prepared casserole dish. Spread 2 cups of tomato sauce over the noodles. Sprinkle 1 cup of grated parmesan cheese and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  4. Assemble second layer: Add the second layer of ramen noodles on top of the first layer. Spread the remaining 2 cups of tomato sauce evenly over this layer. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup parmesan and 1 cup mozzarella cheeses over the top.
  5. Bake the lasagna: Bake the assembled dish in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the tomato sauce is bubbling and the cheese is melted and golden.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your ramen lasagna immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use plain ramen noodles without seasoning packets for best flavor control.
  • If desired, add cooked vegetables or cooked ground meat between layers for a heartier dish.
  • Allow the lasagna to rest for a few minutes after baking to help it set and make serving easier.
  • Feel free to substitute mozzarella for other melting cheeses like provolone or fontina.
  • Make sure not to overcook the noodles before layering as they will continue cooking in the oven.
