Ingredients
Scale
Pizza
- 1 lb. pizza dough, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup sliced or diced cooked ham (3–4 oz.)
- 8 oz. pineapple chunks, drained
- 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups whole milk low moisture mozzarella cheese
Garlic Butter Parmesan Crust
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
To Garnish
- Red pepper flakes
- Parsley
- Oregano
Instructions
- Preheat Oven Preheat your oven to 450° F. If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it heats for a more evenly cooked, crispier crust.
- Prepare Pineapple Slice each pineapple chunk into two thinner slices and place them between paper towels to absorb excess moisture before adding to the pizza.
- Shape Dough Spread the dough into an even 12-inch circle on a baking surface. Use a fork to poke holes in the dough to prevent bubbling during baking.
- Add Toppings Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with mozzarella. Top with ham, pineapple slices, and crumbled bacon.
- Bake First Bake the pizza in the oven for 13 minutes, then remove it carefully.
- Prepare Garlic Butter Crust Combine melted butter, grated Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder. Brush this mixture over the edges of the crust.
- Bake Again Return the pizza to the oven and bake for another 3 minutes, or until the crust begins to turn golden brown.
- Garnish Sprinkle red pepper flakes, parsley, and oregano over the pizza. Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use store-bought refrigerated pizza dough as a convenient shortcut or make your own pizza dough for freshness.
- Use low moisture whole milk mozzarella shredded from a block for the best melt and texture. Avoid fresh mozzarella because it retains too much moisture.
- For a smoky flavor, mix half pizza sauce and half BBQ sauce instead of just pizza sauce.
- Ham or Canadian bacon are both excellent choices and are great for using leftovers.
- Pat pineapple chunks dry thoroughly to avoid adding too much moisture to the pizza.
- Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- To reheat, place pizza on a rimmed baking sheet covered loosely with foil and bake at 275° F for 25-30 minutes to restore texture without drying it out.
