Description

A simple and delightful dessert featuring ripe peaches and nectarines grilled to caramelized perfection, served with creamy vanilla ice cream, honey drizzle, and a sprinkle of sea salt for a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 2 ripe peaches
  • 2 ripe nectarines

Other Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 8 large scoops vanilla ice cream
  • Honey for drizzling
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat to prepare it for grilling the fruit.
  2. Prepare the fruit: Cut the peaches and nectarines in half, remove the pits, and brush each half with a light coating of canola oil to prevent sticking and promote caramelization.
  3. Grill the fruit: Place the peach and nectarine halves cut-side down on the hot grill. Grill for about 3 to 4 minutes, rotating them 90 degrees halfway through to achieve attractive grill marks and ensure even caramelization.
  4. Remove and serve: Use tongs to carefully remove the grilled fruit from the grill. Place a large scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center of each fruit half.
  5. Finish with honey and salt: Drizzle honey over the grilled fruit and ice cream, then sprinkle with flaky sea salt to enhance the flavor contrast. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Choose peaches that are ripe but still firm to hold their shape when grilling.
  • Use a neutral oil like canola to avoid overpowering the fruit’s natural sweetness.
  • For added flavor, you can also sprinkle a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg over the fruit before grilling.
  • If you don’t have access to an outdoor grill, a grill pan on the stovetop can be used instead.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast of warm fruit and cold ice cream.
