Description

A refreshing and tropical Frozen Mango Margarita made with ripe mangoes, lime juice, tequila, and a hint of agave syrup. Perfectly blended to a smooth, sorbet-like texture and served with a Tajin-rimmed glass and fresh fruit garnish.

Ingredients

Scale

Frozen Mango Margarita

  • 1 lb mango
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • ½ cup triple sec
  • ½ cup agave syrup
  • 1 cup tequila
  • Generous pinch of sea salt

Serving

  • 4 x 8 oz serving glasses
  • Lime wedge for the glass rim
  • Tajin seasoning
  • 4 slices of lime to garnish
  • Fresh mango to garnish

Instructions

  1. Blend ingredients: Place all the ingredients (mango, lime juice, triple sec, agave syrup, tequila, and sea salt) into a blender and blend until smooth to create the frozen mango margarita mixture.
  2. Store or serve: Use the frozen mango margarita immediately for best texture or transfer it to an ice cream container and store in the freezer until needed. Note that it will maintain a soft sorbet-like consistency and will not freeze solid.
  3. Prepare glasses: Rub a lime wedge on the rims of the serving glasses, then dip the rims into Tajin seasoning to coat them evenly. Set the glasses aside.
  4. Garnish lime slices: Thread lime slices onto cocktail picks and half dip each lime slice in Tajin seasoning for garnish.
  5. Serve cocktail: Fill the rimmed glasses with the frozen mango margarita mixture, garnish with the seasoned lime slices and fresh mango pieces, and serve immediately with a thick straw.

Notes

  • You can increase the mango quantity for a fruitier taste; 1 lb is just a guideline.
  • Both US cups and UK/Australian cups can be used for measuring liquids.
  • The frozen margarita will have a sorbet-like texture and might not freeze completely solid.
  • Tajin seasoning can be substituted with chili powder and salt if not available.
  • Use ripe, sweet mangoes for the best flavor.
