Description

Festive and fun Christmas Wreath Cookies made with buttery marshmallow-coated cornflakes, tinted green, and decorated with red candies to resemble holiday wreaths. A delightful no-bake treat perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
  • 30 large marshmallows
  • 6 drops green gel food coloring or 1 1/4 teaspoons liquid green food coloring
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 cups cornflakes

Decoration

  • 1 bottle red hot candies or 1/2 cup red candy coated chocolates such as mini M&M’s
  • cooking spray for shaping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: Place the marshmallows and butter in a large bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Color and Flavor: Stir in the green food coloring and vanilla extract until the mixture is evenly colored and smooth.
  4. Coat the Cereal: Add the cornflakes to the bowl and gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Shape the Wreaths: Spray a 1/4 cup measuring cup with cooking spray, then pack it tightly with the cornflake mixture. Turn it out onto the prepared sheet pan. Use your fingers (damp or sprayed with cooking spray) to create a hole in the center to form a wreath shape.
  6. Decorate: Press red candies onto the wreaths to resemble holly berries for a festive look.
  7. Cool and Set: Allow the wreath cookies to cool completely until firm. Serve and enjoy your festive treats!

Notes

  • Use cooking spray on your fingers to prevent sticking when shaping the wreaths.
  • You can substitute cornflakes with rice cereal for a different texture.
  • If you prefer a sweeter decoration, use mini M&M’s instead of red hot candies.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain freshness.
  • Microwaving times may vary—melt marshmallows and butter slowly to avoid burning.
