SRIRACHA BBQ Dip
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1–2 teaspoons Sriracha
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F in air fryer mode to ensure it reaches the ideal temperature for crispy wings.
- Dry wings: Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. This is crucial for achieving the best crispiness as moisture inhibits browning.
- Coat the wings: In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this spice mix over the wings and toss until evenly coated.
- Air fry: Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the basket, working in batches if necessary. Cook the wings for 7 minutes, then flip them over and continue cooking for an additional 8 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Serve the wings plain or toss them in your choice of sauce such as buffalo, honey mustard, honey buffalo, or sriracha BBQ. Pair with your favorite dipping sauces for extra flavor.
Notes
- For extra crispy wings, ensure they are patted dry thoroughly before coating with spices.
- Buffalo sauce can be made by simmering hot sauce, butter, molasses, and honey over medium heat until slightly thickened.
- Honey mustard dip offers a creamy, sweet, and tangy flavor with a light kick and can be adjusted by adding more or less hot sauce.
- Honey buffalo dip balances creamy, sweet, and spicy flavors and you can adjust the heat by varying the hot sauce amount.
- Sriracha BBQ dip combines smoky barbecue sauce with a spicy kick from sriracha; adjust spice levels to taste.
- Cook wings in batches if your air fryer basket is small to ensure even crispiness.
- Let wings rest for a few minutes after cooking to allow juices to settle.
