Description

A flavorful Cajun Garlic Butter Sauce made with a blend of spices and fresh garlic, perfect for enhancing seafood, chicken, or vegetables with rich, zesty taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Cajun Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 1 stick butter divided
  • 4 cloves garlic minced or grated
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Cajun seasoning homemade or storebought
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh parsley minced

Homemade Cajun Seasoning

  • 3 Tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter and Sauté Garlic: Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced or grated garlic and cook gently for 1 minute, allowing the garlic to soften and infuse the butter without browning.
  2. Add Remaining Ingredients: Add the remaining butter, fresh parsley, lemon juice, and Cajun seasoning to the saucepan. Whisk everything together to combine thoroughly and cook the sauce over low heat for 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
  3. Prepare Cajun Seasoning: In a separate bowl, mix all the seasoning ingredients: smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, kosher salt, ground white pepper, ground mustard, dried oregano, dried thyme, cayenne pepper, and dried basil. Store any leftover seasoning for future use as it keeps for several months.

Notes

  • Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Cajun seasoning can be made ahead and stored at room temperature in an airtight container for several months.
  • Use this sauce to add a spicy, buttery flavor to seafood, grilled chicken, steamed vegetables, or pasta.
  • Adjust the cayenne pepper amount in the seasoning to suit your heat preference.
