Description

Creamy Alfredo ravioli casserole with layers of tender ravioli, shredded chicken, and rich Alfredo sauce, topped with melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. This easy baked dish is perfect for busy weeknights and serves 6.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 (24-ounce) bag frozen ravioli
  • 3 cups Alfredo sauce (jarred or homemade)
  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the casserole.
  2. First Sauce Layer: Spread one third of the Alfredo sauce evenly on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking and add flavor.
  3. First Ravioli Layer: Place half of the frozen ravioli over the sauce layer in a single layer.
  4. First Chicken Layer: Evenly distribute half of the cooked chicken over the ravioli, then sprinkle with half of the Italian seasoning. Drizzle another third of the Alfredo sauce on top of the chicken to keep it moist.
  5. Second Ravioli Layer: Add the remaining half of the ravioli as the next layer over the sauce.
  6. Second Chicken Layer: Top with the remaining chicken, sprinkle the remaining Italian seasoning, and then drizzle with the remaining Alfredo sauce.
  7. Cheese Topping: Cover the entire casserole with the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly to create a golden cheesy crust.
  8. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and the dish to heat through.
  9. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese on top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; reheat in the microwave or oven at 300 degrees Fahrenheit until warmed through.
  • Freeze leftovers in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
  • To make ahead, assemble the casserole, cover with foil, and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Use your favorite store-bought Alfredo sauce or homemade for best flavor.
  • Shredded rotisserie chicken is a convenient shortcut for this recipe.
  • Ensure ravioli is spread in a single layer for even cooking.
