Description

This Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole combines the warm, gooey flavor of cinnamon rolls with the classic custardy texture of French toast, baked into a delightful breakfast or brunch dish perfect for serving a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tubes refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Dish: Pour the 4 tablespoons of melted butter evenly on the bottom of a 9×13 glass baking dish to prevent sticking and add flavor.
  2. Cut Cinnamon Rolls: Cut each cinnamon roll into 8 pieces and spread them evenly over the melted butter in the baking dish.
  3. Mix Custard: In a separate bowl, whisk together 6 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, and 2 teaspoons vanilla until well combined.
  4. Assemble Casserole: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish. Then pour 1 cup of maple syrup over the entire mixture.
  5. Bake: Place the casserole in the oven and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes until the casserole is set and golden around the edges.
  6. Add Icing: Remove the casserole from the oven and top with the icing that came with the cinnamon rolls for extra sweetness and flavor.

Notes

  • Use a 9×13 glass or ceramic baking dish for even baking and easy cleanup.
  • Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving to let it set properly.
  • For a dairy-free option, substitute milk with almond or oat milk and use dairy-free butter.
  • You can prepare the casserole the night before and refrigerate it, then bake in the morning for a ready-to-go breakfast.
  • Adding chopped nuts or raisins to the cinnamon roll pieces before pouring the custard can add extra texture and flavor.
