Description

This Million Dollar Dip is a creamy, savory appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings, combining cream cheese, mayonnaise, sharp cheddar, crispy bacon, and crunchy toasted almonds for a flavorful and textured dip.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup slivered almonds toasted and chopped (90g)
  • 1 (8-ounce/226g) package cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise (210g)
  • 8 ounces cheddar cheese grated (226g)
  • 6 slices bacon cooked until crisp, finely chopped (40g)
  • 4 green onions thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine Cream Cheese and Mayonnaise: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise with a rubber or silicone spatula and mix well to combine. It’s okay if the mixture is not entirely smooth.
  2. Fold in Remaining Ingredients: Gently fold in the chopped toasted almonds, grated cheddar cheese, finely chopped crisp bacon, thinly sliced green onions, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and cayenne pepper until well incorporated.
  3. Chill the Dip: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the dip for 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up slightly.
  4. Serve with Toppings and Accompaniments: Before serving, top the dip with additional sliced green onions. Serve with buttery crackers, toasted baguette slices, and/or fresh-cut vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • To toast slivered almonds, place them in a dry skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently until golden and fragrant—about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • For best flavor, use sharp cheddar cheese and fully cooked crispy bacon.
  • The dip can be made a day ahead and refrigerated, allowing flavors to deepen.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature depending on preference.
  • Suitable substitutions for mayonnaise include Greek yogurt for a tangier, lighter option.
