Description

This Buffalo Chicken Pizza combines shredded chicken tossed in buffalo sauce with a crispy pizza crust, topped with mozzarella, red onions, banana peppers, and a garlic butter parmesan crust for a spicy, creamy, and cheesy delight perfect for pizza lovers.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups shredded chicken
  • ⅓ cup buffalo sauce, plus more to drizzle on top
  • ¼ cup blue cheese dressing, divided (can substitute Ranch)
  • 1 lb. pizza dough, at room temperature
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup red onions, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup banana pepper rings, patted dry

Garlic Butter Parmesan Crust

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese, grated
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

To Garnish

  • Chives or Green Onions
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450° F. If you have a pizza stone, place it inside the oven while it heats for a crisper, evenly browned crust.
  2. Marinate Chicken: Combine shredded chicken with buffalo sauce and 1 tablespoon of blue cheese dressing. Let it marinate while preparing other ingredients.
  3. Prepare Dough: Spread the pizza dough onto a lightly greased 12-inch pizza pan or preheated pizza stone. Use a fork to poke holes in the dough to prevent bubbling during baking.
  4. Add Toppings: Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle most of the mozzarella cheese on top. Distribute the marinated chicken, sliced red onions, and banana pepper rings over the cheese. Finish with the remaining mozzarella.
  5. Drizzle Sauces: Drizzle 3 tablespoons of blue cheese dressing and 1 to 2 tablespoons of buffalo sauce evenly over the toppings.
  6. Bake Initial: Bake in the preheated oven for 13 minutes, then remove the pizza.
  7. Prepare Garlic Butter Crust: Mix melted butter, grated Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder. Brush this mixture over the pizza crust edges to add flavor.
  8. Bake Finish: Return pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 3 minutes or until the crust starts to brown lightly and crisp up.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Remove pizza, garnish with chopped green onions or chives, red pepper flakes, and parsley. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • Blue Cheese: Marie’s Chunky Blue Cheese dressing is recommended for best flavor, available in the refrigerated produce section. Ranch can be used as a milder alternative.
  • Buffalo Sauce: Franks Buffalo Sauce provides authentic heat and flavor balance.
  • Mozzarella: Use low moisture whole milk shredded mozzarella for optimal melting. Avoid fresh mozzarella as it is too wet.
  • Pizza Dough: Use store-bought refrigerated dough for convenience or homemade pizza dough for superior taste.
  • Storage & Reheating: Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
