Description

A refreshing and vibrant Blood Orange Mimosa combining fresh blood orange juice, Cointreau, and Champagne, garnished with mint and blood orange slices for a festive touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup blood orange juice (about 23 blood oranges)
  • 2 oz Cointreau
  • ¼ cup Champagne (up to ½ cup if desired)
  • Fresh mint for garnish
  • Blood orange slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Juicing the oranges: Juice the blood oranges and strain the juice to remove pulp and seeds. Reserve the juice for the cocktail.
  2. Mixing base ingredients: In a champagne flute, pour the blood orange juice and measure 2 oz of Cointreau, adding it to the glass.
  3. Adding Champagne: Add ice cubes to the flute if desired, then top the mixture with ¼ cup (or up to ½ cup) of chilled Champagne.
  4. Garnishing and serving: Garnish with fresh mint sprigs and blood orange slices. Serve immediately and enjoy your mimosa!

Notes

  • For best flavor, use fresh blood oranges rather than bottled juice.
  • If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, increase the Cointreau slightly or add a splash of simple syrup.
  • Serve chilled Champagne to keep the drink refreshing.
  • Omitting ice is typical but adding it can make the drink extra cool on warmer days.
