Scale
Salad
- 5–6 cups fresh baby spinach leaves, packed (10 ounce package)
- ½ large red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced if large
- 1 cup blackberries
- 1 cup raspberries
- ½ cup blueberries
- ⅓ cup crumbled blue cheese
- 2 tbsp sliced almonds
- Edible flowers, for garnish (optional)
Dressing
- ½ cup Creamy Poppy Seed Dressing, or more to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the greens and fruit: Wash and dry the baby spinach thoroughly, preferably using a salad spinner to remove excess water. Spread the spinach evenly over a large serving platter. Add the thinly sliced red onion and arrange the cleaned and prepped strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries evenly on top of the spinach.
- Add toppings: Sprinkle the crumbled blue cheese over the salad followed by the sliced almonds to add a delightful crunch and creamy flavor contrast.
- Dress and garnish: Drizzle the creamy poppy seed dressing generously over the salad according to your taste. Garnish with edible flowers if using, to add visual appeal. Serve the salad immediately to enjoy fresh flavors and crisp texture.
Notes
- Use fresh, ripe berries for the best flavor and texture.
- Blue cheese can be substituted with feta or goat cheese to suit your preference.
- If you don’t have sliced almonds, chopped walnuts or pecans can be used as alternatives.
- Edible flowers add a beautiful decorative touch but are optional.
- The creamy poppy seed dressing can be prepared ahead or bought pre-made for convenience.
- Ensure the spinach is well dried to prevent the salad from becoming soggy.
