Ingredients
Scale
Salmon Glaze
- 4 salmon fillets, 6 ounces each, skin on
- 1 ½ tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 ½ teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Bring Salmon to Room Temperature: Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature while you prepare the other ingredients to ensure even cooking.
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 400° F. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the low sodium soy sauce, olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic until fully combined.
- Prepare Salmon for Baking: Place the salmon fillets skin side down in the prepared baking dish. Reserve half of the glaze in a clean dish, then brush or spoon the remaining half over the top of the salmon evenly.
- Bake the Salmon: Bake the salmon for 12 minutes in the oven. After 12 minutes, brush on the remaining half of the glaze over the fillets.
- Finish Baking: Continue baking for another 8 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Thicker fillets may require extra time. For food safety, cook until an internal temperature of 145° F is reached, or for a medium-rare preferred doneness, cook to 125-130° F and let rest for 3 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can swap the glaze for a dry rub using your favorite salmon seasoning if you prefer less sauce.
- Use parchment paper or foil to line the baking dish for easier cleanup.
- Allowing the salmon to sit at room temperature before baking ensures a more even cook.
- Adjust baking time according to the thickness of the salmon fillets.
- Check for doneness by seeing if the salmon flakes easily with a fork or using a food thermometer.
