Description
Air Fryer Pasta Chips are a crispy, savory appetizer made with cooked rigatoni pasta that is air-fried to golden perfection, tossed with garlic-infused olive oil, and topped with grated Parmesan cheese for a deliciously crunchy snack.
Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 8 ounces rigatoni noodles, cooked al dente and drained
Seasoning and Topping
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer. Set your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for cooking the pasta chips.
- Coat the noodles. In a large bowl, place the cooked and drained rigatoni noodles. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over them and toss thoroughly to ensure each piece is lightly coated.
- Arrange noodles in air fryer. Spread the coated noodles in a single layer on your air fryer basket or rack to allow even cooking.
- Air fry the pasta. Cook the noodles at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes until they become golden brown and crispy.
- Prepare the seasoning. While the pasta is cooking, combine the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, minced garlic, kosher salt, and black pepper in a separate bowl, mixing well to create the flavorful oil mixture.
- Toss pasta chips with seasoning. Transfer the cooked pasta chips to a large bowl, pour the garlic oil mixture over them, and toss well to coat every chip evenly.
- Add cheese and serve. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top of the coated pasta chips and serve immediately, optionally with your favorite dipping sauce like marinara or garlic sauce.
Notes
- Ensure the pasta is cooked al dente so it crisps well without becoming too hard.
- Toss the noodles in oil thoroughly for even crisping during air frying.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary for best results.
- Experiment with different seasonings such as smoked paprika or Italian herbs for varied flavors.
- Serve immediately after cooking to retain crispiness.
